Spring League Rules 2009
 Rules
The competition will be played over 11 holes will be stableford
and full handicaps will apply.
The competition will commence on the
1st February and continue for 6 weeks with the
Quarter finals being played on 15th March,
the Semi Finals on 22nd March and the
Final on the 29th March (subject to the weather).
The entrance fee to the competition will be e30 with visitors paying a
further e10 per round thereafter also paid before play.
There will be no fee charged to visitors after the 6 week
qualifying period Vouchers may not be used
Entrance fees must be paid before playing your first round
Your Name must be entered into the competition book prior to playing a
round.
Completed cards,
Which must contain the following 7 items of information
Name
Handicap
Date Round Played
Round or Week number
Player Signature
Markers Signature
Team number
and must be posted in the competition box in the clubhouse after finish of play.
Only cards properly completed will be processed.
Games must be played within 8 days i.e Saturday to the following
Saturday, there will be no extensions granted. The only exception to the
above, will be in week One & Week six of the league when all matches
must be completed by Sunday the 9th March,
This is to allow teams that qualify for the quarter finals to be notified
It is expected that you shall play with your opposite on an other team,
however if the opponent is not available you may play with another team
member or any available member.
Scoring will be determined by the best 4 out of 5 cards, the 5th score will
also be recorded as this score will be used in the event of a tie to
determine Quarter & Semi final places. In other words the teams lowest
score on each of the 6 weeks will be added together to give a total the
highest of which will determine the place.
Any player may play a round earlier than it is due to be played but you
must follow the procedure at 5 above making sure to put down thecorrect
week number on the card and sign the appropriate page in the
competition book.
As an incentive to ensure all members of a team play, 2 points will
be added to the weekly team score for each game completed by
each member of the team. A further 2 points will be given this year
if you play with Your opposite Number. This is to encourage
members playing with different partners.
So it is up to team Captain's to ensure a full turnout,
as these points have proved crucial at the end of the stableford period.
Team Captain's will have been selected on the basis of the lowest
handicaps.
In the case of a weekend being rained off or the course being closed, the
entire scores for that particular week will be will be cancelled.
The six top teams at the end of the stableford phase will qualify for the
match play element of the competition.
Rules for the match play will be explained to the participating teams at
that time.
Local rules apply so make sure and check the board.
Any disputes should be made immediately after the round or as soon as
is possible to the competitions committee in writing
Results will be posted on the club website and on the notice board as
they come to hand.
